This week Scripture Challenge by Rina Kroes at Scrapbook-Elements is just what I needed to make several Father’s Day layouts for friends and family. On top of that, she will be giving out parts of her kits when you post in the gallery and send her the link. It’s a weekly challenge with different scriptures word art created by her.
Here’s my layout for this week challenge:
Dedicated to Jojo, a friend with 5 beautiful children and husband to Ida. Photo taken of him and Sabina at CoffeeBean after sending our kids off to their Youth Camp recently. Jojo and Ida have I think the most well behaved, articulated and responsible kids I’ve the chance to meet and it’s great to know we can send our bratty Hui Xian every Saturday to hang out with them. Maybe some of their good qualities will rub off on her! LOL Ida… do you hear that?! I’m sure Hui Xian will make a fuss when she reads this but I’m taking the chance that she might skip this altogether!
Layout:
Main photo by me while the kids’ photo at the bottom is from Ida’s gallery.
I used my Coffee with Oma Page Set. Paper has been recolored to match layout.

Back to my family-
We sent Hui Xian to meet her friends for Fantastic 4 movie in the afternoon (Thanks Simone for giving off your ticket to her). Before that we had our lunch at Chili’s, the recently opened branch in Penang. Met the COO and had a chat there and promised to meet him when we go to Kuala Lumpur again. It was chilly inside the restaurant and they haven’t had their permit for alcohol license yet so I’m missing their famous frozen Margaritas. Went to the opposite joint for the ahem… good things in life and met some friends…one thing led to another and just when we went back to Chilli’s for our dinner, Hui Xian called to be picked up. Oh well… DH went to fetch her and in the rain too so he wasn’t too pleased when he had to fight his way through the heavy traffic and horrible driving style here in Malaysia. LOL Poor guy looked as if he could kill someone when he got back to his very cold burger!
When it poured, it was really heavy with strong winds and the rain splashing into our former joint. After saying good bye to our friends, we headed home and continued the rest of the night with Absolute Vodka on the rocks with lime. Yummilicious drink but lethal when I want to continue my designing! At 1:00am the family and of course our cat and dog gathered in my bedroom and watched Formula 1 qualifying. Race was at Indianapolis, USA. Went straight to bed after this late night.
Sunday, being Father’s Day, we went out to lunch and since I have to finish my designs, I went straight to work until late afternoon. Prepared dinner for the family. I cooked baked fish with chili filling, steamed vegetables and egg sambal (roasted chili paste). I thought Hui Xian won’t like fish because she had been refusing to eat it but at dinner she and DH cleaned up good this 1kg seabass. Sorry Curl… no leftovers for our cat so he had to resort to the can again. 😛
In total, DH celebrated Father’s Day twice; first on ‘Corpus Christi’ a Catholic Holiday and much celebrated in Germany and another one here last Sunday. Double the fun, double the celebration! LOL
